ARE YOU PROVIDING HIM A PLACE TO BREED?
ORDINANCE 58-3 BREEDING PLACES FOR MOSQUITOES: reads:
No person shall permit any barrel, bucket, or can or any vessel about his premises wherein rainwater or other waste may collect and furnish breeding places for mosquitoes, or any pool of any kind where water remains standing long enough for breeding of mosquitoes, but all pools of every kind must have an outlet and a flow of fresh water into and out of the pool in order to keep water therein fresh and fee from contamination by mosquitoes and other insects.
No person shall allow old cans or any other waste to be thrown into a yard or alley, or along the streets, wherein water might collect and furnish places for mosquitoes, but all such waste must be gathered up and put in garbage containers to be hauled away by the city.
Be cautious of your environment; look for things that may promote the breeding of mosquitoes. Be sure to keep your pets water bowls/containers washed and sanitary, remove unused tires, washers, dryers or other items which may be holding water, take them to the landfill. Junked vehicles provide a nesting place for mosquitoes as the overgrown grass and weeds, and water collected in the floors and trunks. Prevention is the key to keeping a sanitary environment. Do your part, start with your immediate location look around and began the prevention, by removing the helpmates to mosquito infestation within our community.
