Effective March 24, 2006.
All building and zoning for the City of Sylvester will be administered by Sandy Almand. Sandy may be reached at P.O. Box 370, 229-776-8505 or at 101 N. Main Street, Sylvester, GA 31791. Hours are 8am - 11:30am, Monday - Thursday.

| New Utilities |
|
To begin your new utility service in Sylvester you must do the following procedures:
1. Have picture ID (driver's License).
2. Social Security card.
3. Rent Receipt.
4. Service Charge for:
Lights - $50.00
Water - $10.00
Gas - $20.00
The Service is Non-refundable.
5. Deposit for services:
Lights - $50.00
Water - $50.00
Gas - $50.00
The Deposit is applied to final bill or transfered to a new location if your going to have services with the city.
6. To have services turned on you need to
come into city hall before 1:30 p.m.
7. Work orders are done Mon - Fri between
3:30 & 5:00.
8. Transfering of service from one address to another is $20.00.
9. Reconnection fee for delinquent bill is $60.00. Bill must be paid with cash before 4:30pm for reconnection.

March 5, 2008 Sylvester, GA The City of Sylvester, GA has selected GovDeals {www.govdeals.com) a state-of-the-art, online auction service for Local, State and Federal government agencies to conduct online sales of their surplus vehicles, equipment and assets.
"GovDeals will help us get the most money out of our surplus vehicles, equipment and assets by offering them to a wider base of buyers through the Internet. The bottom line is more money returned to the taxpayers,” said Shad Faulkner of the City of Cumming. “We can now sell assets year-round instead of storing and waiting for an annual auction. In addition to getting more money for surplus assets we also reduce storage and handling costs and vehicle and equipment depreciation,” Faulkner continued.
A recent study by the State of Tennessee showed that equipment and assets brought 47% more sold through GovDeals than via live public auctions. GovDeals is endorsed by the GMA (Georgia Municipal Association) and the ACCG (Association of County Commissioners of Georgia.)
Items for sale will be posted continuously on the web and can be accessed through www.govdeals.com. Bidders can register free of charge at the GovDeals website.
