The City of Sylvester Customer Service Department, housed in the old train Depot at 102 South Main Street, is responsible for excellent, daily customer service regarding account questions, bill payments, and work orders, to name a few. New Services

All new services are done between 8:00 AM – 3:45 PM and will be conneted the same day

What do I need to do in order to begin service?

Anyone who is listed on the lease/purchase agreement as a responsible party will need to come to the Depot in person to begin service; you will be required to pay the service charges in order to start service(s).

Please bring the following items with you:

  • Your lease/rental/purchase agreement
  • Driver’s License
  • Social Security Card (Tax ID for Commercial)
  • For Commercial, we will also need a copy of your Business License

How much does it cost to start new service?

For Residential service, the following non-refundable service charge fees will apply:

  • Electricity: $75
  • Water: $75
  • Gas: $75

For Commercial service, the following non-refundable service charge fees will apply:

  • Electricity: $100
  • Water: $100
  • Gas: $100

Transfer:

If you currently have city service and wish to transfer to another address that also has city service, the following will apply:

  • Your current bill at your present address will need to be paid
  • Your lease/rental/purchase agreement
  • Driver’s License
  • Social Security Card (Tax ID for Commercial)

How much does it cost to transfer service?

  • A non-refundable service charge of $30 wil be required to transfer service plus the amount, if applicable, of any outstanding bill.

Disconnection of Service(s):

  • If you wish to disconnect any city service, you will need to come to the Depot in person, with your ID to sign the disconnect work order. Only the person whose name is on the account may sign for the disconnect with proper identification.
