Melvin Powell previously served as a City Councilmember for Ward 1 for 24 years (1996 to 2020). He was re-elected to serve Ward 1 for a four-year term on January 2024. Melvin has been a resident of Worth County all his life, and for 61 years he has been a resident of Ward 1. He has worked in Food Management at Seabrook/Olam Edible Nuts for 34 years.
