A Vision for Downtown Renewal and Economic Growth

The mission of the Sylvester Main Street Department is to plan, organize, produce, and encourage community programs and services that will revitalize, beautify, and ensure the long-term stability of an economically healthy business community. This goal is achieved by utilizing the Main Street Four-Point Approach: Design, Promotion, Economic Restructuring, and Organization to achieve the mission.

The vision of the Sylvester Main Street Department is to maintain the tradition of preserving our city through downtown revitalization as well as enhancing economic opportunities for the downtown business district. We will strive to sustain a downtown destination where people choose to gather for living, shopping, socializing, and entertainment. Programs produced shall reflect the distinctive cultural and architectural integrity of the Downtown Historic Business District. To truly be effective and ensure a welcoming culturally diverse community, all programs, and services must be implemented through the continual participation form community groups, businesses, and property owners daily.
