The City of Sylvester Planning Division is responsible for guiding and regulating the city’s long and short term development. The comprehensive planning process establishes recommendations to effectively guide residential and commercial development for current and future residents.

The Planning Commission of Sylvester recommends for adoption by the governing body zoning regulations and officical zoning map, development regulations and other such land use regulations; recommends for adoption by the governing bodu amendments to any of the land use regulations, and to make recommendations concerning applications for zoning map requirements, conditional use approvals, variances, annexation or other such applications.

The Planning Commission is composed of a representative from each council district and an at-large member approved by the City Council. Each member serves a staggered four term.

The Planning Commission meets the first Tuesday at 6:30 PM on an as needed basis. Work Sessions are also available upon request.
